New Resource
I wanted to post about a new resource. This is from Lesli Westfall, and this is her ministry, Dancing Upon Barren Land. Here is a little about it that I took from her website:
"Most women from the time they are little girls dream of having children of their own and becoming 'mommy' some day. Our culture has changed over the decades, women are starting their families later in life. A childhood dream is shattered and the bite of reality stings when the desire for children doesn't come quickly, or at all.
It is estimated that one in six American couples (7.3 million women) are affected by infertility, even more worldwide. Those women who attend church or profess a belief in God, unfortunately, are not immune from these astounding statistics. They leave their places of worship with the need to fit in, to be accepted, with a profound feeling of hopelessness. Where is there inspiration for their confused mind and depleted heart?
Dancing Upon Barren Land - Spiritual Nourishment for the Infertility Road addresses those needs through a Christian online support ministry, whether they are new in their faith in Christ or seasoned believers. The ministry's mission is to inspire belief through Jesus Christ that there is an expected end to the road of barrenness. The monthly disappointments can be turned into God appointments, bringing joy and peace along the journey, as well as offering tools to family members, friends and ministry leaders to support the fertility-challenged, the women traveling to the destination of motherhood."
Thank you, Lesli, for letting me know of your ministry! Blessings on you.

Friday
Urgent news: Prayer vigil being held tonight for Layla. Please visit her blog for more details. Please pray for this precious girl and her parents! Unless God performs a healing miracle on her body, she will be with Jesus soon. Please pray!!!
Continue to pray for the Shubert's during the adoption process, for their son's health, and also for the birth momma during this difficult time for her.
I found the sweetest blog today, while checking on Brayden. It's called Adaptions 4 Kidz. Here's a little description about it from Brayden's mom:
"If you have a little one with limited mobility or extra special needs, this is the blog to seek out and follow for wonderful craft, game, and activity ideas for our little ones. Junior's mom, Heidi, has some amazing ideas that Junior loves to demonstrate for you through his pictures...he has an infectious smile so even if you aren't interested in the ideas, you should go check out the pics for a smile to brighten your day!"
So sweet, and I thought it was a great resource!
Eden needs prayer for her eyes. She has a visit with the eye doctor coming up, pray for improvement and a good report!
Please pray for Emerson; she has been very sick this week, and is still recovering. Pray that she is well for her Make A Wish Disneyland trip!
James had a chemo treatment this week and is having a rough time. Please pray for him!
Joshua needs prayers as he is having some difficulties recovering from his last hospital stay. Please pray for healing.
Kate has begun her chemo treatments this week for the stem cell transplant. Her kidneys are not functioning at %100, please pray that this improves, and for protection for her during this time.
Please pray for Lilliana's lungs, that they will get better and she can begin to breathe on her own.
Pray for Lindsay, she has a light case of pneumonia.
Rebekah is also having some respiratory issues, please pray for quick healing for her.
Noah is recovering from the croup, please pray for quick healing.
Gavin has the flu, please pray for him.
Abbey is on another round of chemo, remember her.

New stuff
Ok, so I just finished some changes......I added tabs at the top to seperate all the different categories. It's pretty much grouped the same as when everything was on the sidebar, except the resources page is a little different. I thought maybe this would make it easier, and save a lot of scrolling, because the sidebar was getting quite long! I also tried to keep everything pretty current, and I removed some sites that were no longer active, and some fundraisers that have closed. I hope this helps....comments? Questions?

2 new requests, and help needed
The blog will be under construction until further notice, so please be patient. Some things might disappear and reappear, so just keep checking back. Thanks!
First, I want to post these two new requests:
This is Bronson; he had a near drowning accident on January 29th, and is now on life support.
This is Luke; a request for him was left in the comments:
"Could you please add a little boy from my church to your list? He is only 8 months old and has already had several heart surgeries. He has been doing well but then took a sharp turn for the worse on Friday. Thanks for your prayers."
Second, I would like to request some input from you all. I am in the process of (attempting to!) reorganize the blog, to make it more user friendly. If you have any suggestions of how to make the blog easier to navigate or find particular resources, if you know of any site that would be a good addition, or any new requests, please let me know. Again, thanks for visiting and praying, and as always thanks for the comments you leave about precious little ones needing prayer. Blessings!

Worry
By: Rian
At church a couple weeks ago the pastor said, "Worry is a misery we choose". I had never heard it put that way, but it really spoke to me. I am not a stranger to worry at all, even before fertility treatments and miscarriages. I grew up with a very manic step father. Everyday on the bus on the way home from school I would wonder which dad would be waiting for me; the fun, happy go lucky one, or the angry, mean one? It was so bad that at the age of 13 I was diagnosed with an ulcer and put on medication. Thankfully a couple of years later I got a boyfriend (that had a car!), then got a car and then a job, so I spent less and less time at home.
In my early adult life I really did well not worrying. I realized that I basically had no control over things so what was the point. That all ended after that very first miscarriage. My world was rocked and my naivety about pregnancy was gone. Every pregnancy after that I tried so hard not to worry that things would go wrong. I think I did ok, but worry was always around the corner.
Why do we worry? What good does it do? Can it change the outcome of anything? I'm sure we all know the answers to those questions. Worry really is a misery, or a prison. A place we choose that makes our lives even harder than they are. All of our lives would be so much easier if we could truly lay it all down at the feet of Jesus and believe with our whole heart that He is in control. Wouldn't it be so much better if in those moments of worry we could pray instead? I'm sure prayers are much more productive than worrying, and think of the peace your heart would have.
Matthew 6:25-34
25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]?
28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

After four years of infertility and five miscarriages, Rian was finally able to realize her lifelong dream of motherhood. She now spends her days raising her one year old son, caring for her husband and their home. She is also co-presiding over the Amarillo chapter of Resolve. Rian has a calling to minister to women who experience suffering and heartache.
