OPPORTUNITIES TO HELP:

Check Kate's Caring Bridge site for a way to help out this Christmas....and as always, pray for Kate!

PRAY:

The Tolbert's are home with their new baby girl! Praise God for the miracle of adoption.

I received this prayer request from Stephanie. Be in prayer for this family:

"Please continue to keep us in your prayers.
We don't know for sure, but it's very possible that tomorrow (Friday) at my specialist appt. they'll be sending us over for immediate delivery.
These days there are as many risks for her to be "in" as there are risks for her to be "out" ... we just can't win.
I'm scared out of my mind, but trying to remain positive. Sadie wasn't suppossed to make it to 15 weeks, much less this far (31 weeks), I'm not about to give up on her now. The fear of the unknown is the worst. I can imagine this would be extemely difficult no matter the situation, but the fact that we have 3 other children to worry about at home .. only makes it that much more complicated."

Please continue to pray for Gavin; he is in his last moments here with his family. Pray for his little body, and for his parents during this very difficult time. Pray for peace!!!

Dylan has his engraftment testing on Monday; pray for 100% donor cells!

She was born in april with facial abnormalties and she has a v-trach to breath!"

Angel Families update: Tuesday 11/3

First, I want to apologize for not updating in a while.

There are so many families hurting and missing their angels this time of year, with holidays approaching. I know a lot of moms and dads had a rough time on Halloween, so please just keep praying for them.

Carissa is having a rough time. Pray for patience and guidance for her and her family.

There is a young couple who recently lost their baby boy to anencephaly (Baby Isaiah) and cannot afford to pay for a funeral. The estimated cost is $7000 and the money just isn't there. There are two ways that you can help: (1) is to pray for them, and (2) is to make a donation to help the family.

Keep praying for Jessica and her family as they continue on their road trip in their RV promoting pediatric cancer awareness.

James is not feeling well and is running a fever. Pray for quick healing!

Continue prayers for Joshua, and wisdom for the doctors to know how to help him best.

Prayers for Kate:

"This round I have been praying every time I give Kate her chemo. Giving the drugs brings grief knowing the potential risks and in the same breath hope knowing it is destroying the tumor cells. So I pray as it courses through her body. So I wanted to ask you to pray as she gets it. She gets one at 6:30 and one at 8:30 Arizona time of course. So if you are awake we would love for you to pray specifically for her at those times. Pray for the severe stomach pains, pray for when her body has no immune function, pray for her liver, kidneys and hearing and pray for protection against any other malignancies in the future. We know Jesus loves the prayers of his people. So thank you for joining us in this."

Be in prayer for Mikayla and her little brother as they prepare for her bone marrow transplant.

Pray for Kristen this week; she started her injections yesterday!

Monday

NEW REQUESTS:

This is Hannah; she is four years old and just very recently she was diagnosed with leukemia. She has also had a few strokes, and is not able to control her body. She has had some really tough times, and really needs our prayers.

This is Brody; he is 19 months old, and while at the babysitters, he crawled through a doggy door and fell into the pool. Please add him to your prayers!

PRAY!

Request from Nevaeh's momma:

"Please pray for Nevaeh, she is having a rough time with this last chemo treatment. The doses were raised and she has been having a rough week due to it. She is losing lots of weight too. The doctors are concerned. We are doing all we can to get her to eat, but nothing is really working. We are trying liquids high in calories and she is drinking them some. This is a hard time for the family. She is looking weaker and paler and so much thinner. She starts a NRE cycle next week that is a rough cycle. We are praying that all goes well for her. Please keep us in your prayers."

Please pray for Michelle, she lost the baby Thursday night. Please pray for this family, and leave some encouragement for them.

Jess had an ultrasound and visit with the specialist on Thursday, and everything looks great! Please remember them in your prayers as delivery draws closer, and as they are still missing little Cora.

Brayden begins another round of chemo today. Pray for protection for his heart and organs, and from infection.

Pray for Eden today, they are doing some tests on her bowels to see if there is an obstruction. Please pray that whatever they find does not require surgery.

Elijah and his family needs prayers. He was just diagnosed Cerebral Palsy, and his big brother is having tests run for Aspergers. Pray for this little family.

Prayers for Gaines:

"Also, I think that Gaines is making some progress with his head control and development. He's doing better about not holding his head so far back and has been playing with his toys a good bit. Please keep this prayer request in mind this week...I really would love it if you all would pray for his head control to keep developing. He has to get that down before he can master sitting up, standing, walking etc. I'll feel so much better about things once we have that under control. Its probably my biggest concern right now...he's doing great on his oxygen."

Eden will be having surgery on her eyes Friday. Here are some specific prayer requests:

"Please pray that God will protect her vision and those tiny eyes. Please pray that the surgery will go perfectly, with no complications for her tiny body. We are not sure yet, but are assuming that they will re-intubate her in order to give pain meds - please pray that this will not cause any further damage to her lungs and that she'll come off of it and be back to her current respiratory rock-star status. We are kind of stressed about this whole thing, but are begging God to protect her sight...
Please pray!!"

New prayer request

I received this prayer request today from Michelle. Let's lift her up in prayer, and send her some love and encouragement!

"Could you please pass on a prayer request for myself? My name is Michelle and I am 32 years old. I live in the UK with my husband and 6 month old son. I have a rare blood condition called afibrinogenemia (no fibrinogen to clot my blood). I just recently found out I am pregnant again, about 6 weeks. The national health system (NHS) here in England is refusing to treat me until they get approval from the trust to fund another pregnancy. Without treatment I will miscarry my baby and almost did this past Friday, I started bleeding and lost 1 pint of blood. But thanking God that the pregnancy is still hanging on. The doctors have seen a gestational sac but have not seen the baby yet. Please pray that God will guide the NHS Trust committee in the right direction to allow us to give life to this wonderful blessing and not refuse us as I will miscarry because fibrinogen is needed to keep the pregnancy in place. Please pray I don't miscarry before they make a decision. Thank you and God Bless."

Pray for the Tippings: http://www.thetippingfamily.com/
I had the procedure done on Monday, and actually the tube is still blocked, so we will have to do a further procedure before moving forward with trying again. This was a little frustrating, just because of being ready to move forward, but also I know it is a part of the process that we have to go through. Please pray for perseverence, I want to do that and not complain.

Definitely read an awesome story on Angel Baby Sage's blog! http://sagelawrenceeldredge.blogspot.com/ The post is titled Miracle or "Just a Coincidence"?

Monday

Cathy had baby Lars on Saturday! No updates yet, but being early, I'm sure this little one will be needing lots of prayers! (I am moving Cathy's blog to the "praying for...." list, under her new little boy's name, Lars).

Prayer requests for Brayden:

"We are headed out for Little Rock for a bit. Brayden will have a spinal sedation to inject chemo into his spinal fluid and proceed with his 3rd round of High-Dose Methotrexate. We're praying there are no complications with the sedation and that his spinal fluid remains clear. We're praying he's able to drink enough and stay hydrated to flush everything out quickly. We've been so blessed not to have mouth sores yet (other than a few on his lip the first round) and we're praying that trend continues!"

Please pray for Brinely, she had a really rough time last week, and has been sick.

Stop by Emerson's blog for an update, and pray for this little girl. She has a lot going on.

Gaines is home! Please pray for him and his family as they all adjust.

Pray for Gavin and his family. They need extra prayers right now.

Little JJ is here; there is a detailed update on Erica's blog. Please pray for this little one, and for his family!

Prayers for Kate:

"In light of Kate's MRI on Wednesday we are asking family, friends and followers of Christ across the world to join with us at some point in the next few days in a fast. There are details on my website and I will post more details over the next few days. Would you read this post and consider joining us in this?
Thanks,
Aaron:

Pray for wisdom for Maryn's momma to decide on what treatments are best for her little girl.

Paul received his new heart! Pray for swift recovery and healing!

Prayers for Abbey:

"Her MRI is scheduled for October 9th to see if the residue from the clot in her brain is completely gone. Please pray that there is no sign of it and that they will tell us to stop her two shots a day."

Prayers for Abby Riggs:

"This morning (Monday) Abby has an oncology appointment. Abby will get a spinal tap (lumbar puncture), IV chemo and antibiotics and an exam. The chemo that they are injecting into her spinal fluid is needed to treat her cancer, but it can also damage Abby's young brain. Would you please pray that Abby would be well sedated during the procedure, pain free, and not scared? Also, for wisdom as her doctor makes decisions about what doses chemo to give Abby and for no nausea or discomfort after the procedure."

FYI:I went to check on baby Makenna's blog, and it has been removed (not sure why); that is why it is no longer on the list.

Pray for Cathy

Cathy is requesting prayer:

"Please pray for a healthy baby boy!

I'm almost 31 weeks pregnant and found out today (Wednesday) that I'm likely delivering on Friday as the result of preeclampsia....

All the details are on my blog. I'm scared and anxious - and worried as this one is a boy and boys lungs develop slower.

I start a 24 hr urinalysis tomorrow morning and have my 2nd steroid shot (to mature his lungs) tomorrow as well... then an ultrasound to determine maturity followed by a Dr. Appt on Friday morning."

Let's pray!!!!

Continue prayers for Gaines and his family as they get closer to going home.

Gavin is still having a rough time, keep praying for him!

Prayers for Kate:

- blood pressure to stay consistent
- for chemo to get rid of all the cancer cells
- for her upcoming MRI
- for her brother and sister during this difficult time

Pray for Maddie as she continues to have more and more seizures. She needs some relief!

Mikayla had another bone marrow test done and her leukemia is NOT in remission. Please pray!

Please pray for Paul, he is in the hospital and not doing well.

Update on little Veiyah's heart cath procedure; please pray for wisdom.

NEW REQUEST:

This is Brayden; he was born on June 20, 2008 and was diagnosed with hydranencephaly. This blog is his story. Please add him to your prayers! Also, this blog is his momma's blog, for Hydranencephaly Information & Inspiration. It is a wonderful referance source for anyone dealing with this diagnosis in their family.

On a final, personal note, I would like to request prayer for my mother. She is having some tests run next Tuesday, the 8th, for some health problems she has been having for a long time. I am trusting the Lord for a good report, but I know she is in His hands. I ask for prayers for good results, and for peace and joy unspeakable for myself, my mother and father, and my sister. Thank you!!!

Tuesday: Update on Angel Families

Go read http://sweetgirlies.blogspot.com/. Brook's post is helpful on how parents of angel babies feel, and how important it is to not be afraid to ask how they are every now and then.

http://babyfaithhope.blogspot.com/
Prayers needed!!!!
Currently there are efforts to legalize abortion in Brazil, and they are using our babies (babies with anencephaly) to push for abortion. In order to help, Prenatal Partners for Life will be writing a letter, which will include testimonies from parents who have carried their babies to term. Please, if you are the parent of an anencephalic child, contact Mary at Prenatal Partners for Life to help. Her email address is mary@prenatalpartnersforlife.org.

Sunday

Little Alayna went to be with Jesus yesterday. Please pray for her momma and daddy!

Brayden returns to the hospital tomorrow for his second round of chemo. Here are some requests for him:

"This week we're praying for safe travels to LR, an uneventful week with his treatments that flush quickly and no mouth sores! We're praying for Brayden's heart and spirit continue to be protected from the harm of leukemia and a cancer diagnosis. We're praying schoolwork becomes easier for him and his frustrations will be minimal as he works through new challenges."

Continue to pray for Bruce as they make plans for his second transplant.

Eden will be having surgery tomorrow, please pray for her.

Prayers for Kate:

"Please continue to pray that she tolerates the chemo well, with minimal side effects and that her body recovers quickly from it. Another thing to be in prayer over is her next MRI. This is extremely important!! It will probably be in 2 1/2- 3 weeks. If the MRI shows that the tumor has grown at all, we will be taken off the study and need to find another mode of treatment. (We are praying and believing that this will not be the case)! We will continue on with the study, the current mode of treatment, if the treatments have kept it from growing, or if it has shrunk. We are praying that it will have drastically shrunk, and pulled away from the major blood vessels it has wrapped itself around. Or obviously, that the tumor would be completely gone already! So please begin praying for this as the time will come quickly! Thank you!"

Please pray for Reagan to have some relief from her constant tummy pains.

I received this request as an anonymous comment; please include this little girl in your prayers:

"Please pray for my daughter Annabelle. She had her tonsils and adenoids removed on Tuesday and went home the same day. We got readmitted into the hospital today because she is major dehydrated and has and infection! Please pray that we won't be here long and that she will soon begin to eat and drink! Thank you a lot!"

Thursday

I was reading Emerson's blog, and my heart was really hurting for her momma. If you feel led, please give her some encouragement and love.

Prayers for Gaines:

"Please keep Gaines in your prayers. Pray that he is able to take a full day of bottles soon and for his lungs to continue healing. Pray that he tolerates 2 liters well and that soon he'll be able to wean down again soon."

Prayers for Jack H.:

"I ask for prayers for Jack's continued healing from his brain injury. He has come such a long way, but still has a way to go. I appreciate all the support and kindness you all have shown."

James started steroid treatments yesterday, please pray for him and he goes through these.

Prayers for Kate:

"We continue to ask you to pray for God's guidance in all of this. We ask for protection for Kate's little body from the harmful side effects of the chemo. We ask that even now the tumor would be shrinking, and especially away from the blood vessels that it is wrapped around. Pray for her continued rehabilitation, which is going great. Pray that she will never develop a secondary cancer because of these treatments. Pray for absolute and complete healing for Kate, head to toe. Pray that many will come to know Jesus because of Kate. And pray for endurance and hope for our whole family as the road is long and many times very scary."

Mikayla will be having another bone marrow aspirate test on Monday to see if her leukemia is in remission. Please pray for a good report!

Prayers for Rebekah:

"We would appreciate your prayers for Rebekah's growth and comfort and also for wisdom for us and for Rebekah's doctors as we try to find a feeding plan that works for Rebekah."

Prayers for Reagan:

"Please keep Reagan in your prayers, as we continue to adjust her medications (and probably add a new one) over the next couple weeks."

I was reading Jonah's blog, and his momma had a prayer request for a family that lost their little boy on Tuesday; he passed away in his sleep. I don't know them, but I read their blog and it is heartbreaking. Please pray for this family!

Update on the Turner Family:

"Trenton received the results of his second EEG last Wednesday. They returned normal so they have ruled out epilepsy. They have taken him off his anxiety medication about 2 weeks ago and he is now experiencing symptoms of withdrawal. We are so grateful for all your thoughts and prayers during this round of tests. They are suspecting that his episodes are medication related so they are trying to determine which medication to eliminate one at a time. One of the withdrawal symptoms he is experiencing is rapid heart rate. Please pray that these symptoms subside and he can get back to a sense of normalcy."

NEW REQUEST:

"Prayer request for Alayna--14 month old who is dying of leukemia that has metasticized to her brain with a rapid growing tumor. She is currently in hospice going through the dying process. This has been a horrific experience for the parents, and they need prayers for her comfort and for her pain and fear to be over. Please send out an urgent prayer request for this family."

Monday

There are no urgent needs today of the ones on our prayer lists. But as always, they still need our prayers! Here are some new requests:

This is little Eden. She was born at 24 weeks on August 13th....her twin sister Hannah is with Jesus. Please add her to your prayers!

Jen, Ella's momma, left this prayer request for Karina. She has also been diagnosed with mitochondrial disease (which is what little Ella had.)
