New Prayer Request

Hi all:

I received a message requesting prayers for a young boy named Hunter VanAllen.  I am posting his story from his CaringBridge page here, as well as the link to that page (click on his name).  Please lift him and his family up in prayer during this incredibly difficult journey.

This story is about a healthy, happy, young boy named Hunter VanAllen.  Hunter turned 8 years old on October 28, 2013.  He is a little brother to his sister Victoria (Tori) and a big brother to Jeffrey.  Hunter is also a big fan of Spiderman.  He was very active in his favorite sport, football until he stepped on a Mesquite Tree thorn shortly after his birthday and this is where his story begins.  The thorn broke off into his foot and had to be surgically removed.  He spent numerous days in the hospital, as there was an infection.  Hunter had a reactIon to the medication he was put on and it caused lung damage to the point that he is now on life support (ECMO) and has been in the hospital since Dec 6, 2013.  A recent biopsy shows Hunter needs a lung transplant for both lungs and will have to be transferred to Nationwide Childrens Hospital In Columbus Ohio to have this done as there is no place in Arizona that does lung transplants for Pediatrics.  This is just a short version of Hunter's story.  I have added all the updates as things have progressed regarding Hunter's journey in the journal section of this site...On behalf of all of Hunter's family we thank you for reading and following Hunter's story and for praying for Hunter and the family during this time.  Thank you so much for your prayers, love and support.

Blessings,
Amy
